This incarcerated grandfather had the first Christmas with his family in 25 years

We got to be a part of the most heartwarming reunion earlier this month in St. Louis! In one of our special Family Reunification events, eleven incarcerated men got to embrace their kids and family members for a Christmas night to remember. This was such a much-needed ray of hope at this time, especially, because an offender had been executed earlier in the week. These men needed the arms of their family and a reminder that God is there with them, even in the darkest places.

One family had NEVER gotten to spend Christmas with their incarcerated loved one, and another hadn’t seen their grandfather for Christmas in 25 years… and he got to paint his little granddaughter’s fingernails! It was a beautiful reunion all around as the families got to enjoy A Charlie Brown Christmas and freshly popped popcorn, receive toys and stuffed animals, and celebrate the joy of the season– together.

This example of Christ’s love means the world to these men, women, and their children, and it’s only made possible by the generosity of our incredible donors. On Earth as it is in Heaven

There has never been a greater urgency to reach men and women behind bars. The cycle of generational incarceration is massive, but together we get to do something about it.
