Remember how we needed your help for the Father-Daughter dance?

Thanks to your generosity, God Behind Bars hosted a powerful father-daughter dance at San Quentin Prison, restoring family bonds and creating unforgettable moments of healing and hope.

On behalf of the entire GBB team, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to every supporter, donor, and volunteer who helped make the recent Father-Daughter Dance at San Quentin Prison a reality! You raised more than $11,000 just for this event, which more than covered the meals, transportation, dresses, and supplies to make this such a magical time for these little girls and their incarcerated dads.

Because of your generosity, incarcerated fathers had the rare opportunity to hold their daughters close, share laughter, and dance together—many for the first time in years or ever. What happened inside those prison walls wasn’t just a dance—it was a powerful moment of reconciliation, grace, and restoration.

Healing Behind Bars: A Night That Changed Lives

San Quentin Prison was filled with music, joy, and tender moments as fathers and daughters reunited in an unforgettable celebration of love and family.

We saw tears of joy, heartfelt conversations, and the healing power of simply being present. These fathers, often burdened by shame and separation, were able to look their daughters in the eye and say: I love you. I’m still here.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the God Behind Bars community rallying together.

Why This Matters

Rebuilding family relationships is a cornerstone of true transformation. For incarcerated men, connection with their children provides hope and motivation to become better men, both inside and outside prison walls.

Events like this father-daughter dance in San Quentin directly impact the future—not only for these dads but for their daughters, families, and communities. Your support is changing the narrative and breaking the cycle.

You Made This Happen

Whether you gave financially, donated dresses or decorations, volunteered your time, or lifted this event in prayer—we want you to know: you were there in spirit!

Because of you:

  • Dozens of daughters felt seen, loved, and celebrated.

  • Fathers were given a second chance to show up for their children.

  • Families were reminded that restoration is possible—even in prison.
